Laslo Sergiu is a young Romanian contemporary artist, currently based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. He started painting as a child. He completed his studies at the School of Fine Arts, followed by the University of Arts and Design in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Laslo draws inspiration from what surrounds us in an everyday life, whether it is a passerby, subjects of pop culture or old photography found at a flee market. He takes pieces apart and puts them together on canvas in the shape of peculiar characters.
He tries to create surreal montages of sometimes overlooked imagery, using a dark, monochromatic palette. His works were exhibited in various group exhibitions in Romania, most recently in Bucharest, at Halucinarium Art Gallery, in Cluj-Napoca, within City ArtSpace and DoubleTree by Hilton Cluj. Laslo successfully took part in art auctions and his works can be found in private collections of both Romanian and international art collectors.
