Ani Molnár Gallery

Ani Molnár Gallery, established in 2009 by Annamária Molnár, is located in downtown Budapest developed a high international profile and is amongst the most active galleries of Budapest.
The focus is placed on the international representation of both emerging and established Hungarian and foreign artists, mainly from the CEE region. The artists of the gallery have conceptual artistic profile, they work with the use of a wide range of materials and many of them in the field of installation. The gallery bimonthly organizes solo and group exhibitions giving priority to curatorial concepts. Its program encourages dialogues between contemporary art and the audience.
The gallery displays a wide range of artworks by both highly acclaimed and emerging Hungarian and foreign artists, each having exhibited in major international art events, e.g. the Venice, Sao Paolo, Liverpool, Turku and Moscow Biennials or in Manifesta, and have works in prestigious international collections like the MoMA, Centre Pompidou, Getty Museum, KUMU, the Ludwig and MUSAC collections.
Emerging young artists are also presented by the gallery, together with the established artists in top international art fairs, like The Armory Show in New York, ArtBrussels, Artissima in Turin, ARCOMadrid and specialized/regional art fairs such as LOOP Barcelona, viennacontemporary and Artmarket Budapest.
In 2013 Ani Molnár Gallery was the first Eastern European gallery ever to receive the F.E.A.G.A. Innovation and Creativity Award in Basel. In 2017 at Artissima the gallery received the Campari Award for the presentation of best young artist, Sári Ember. In 2018 Péter Forgács’s video ‘Venom’ received the ‘Acquisition Award 2018’ at LOOP Barcelona. In 2019, Tamás Waliczky represents Hungary on the Venice Biennale with his series’ Imaginary Cameras’.
Ani Molnár, the director of the gallery has been an active board member of Talking Galleries between 2014-2016. She is a board member at F.E.A.G.A. since 2017.
